Lake Garda is the northernmost area in Europe where olive trees are grown for the production of olive oil. Garda has a unique microclimate, very similar to a Mediterranean subarea, and since ancient times olive trees are part of the landscape. The “cultivar” – the native olive tree of the region is the “casaliva” but there are many other families in the area. We know a couple of small producers obsessed with the tradition but committed to research and quality happy to show you the process and let you try their organic olive juice.
